Another vintage hair do

I may make a video about this one, if I get a lot of requests.

You will need bobby pins, hair spray, hair dryer, a curling iron, a brush and a flower

  • Start with clean hair.
  • Section your hair top and bottom.
  • Spray the top part with hair spray from roots to about midway
  • Blow dry upside down, while teasing a little with a brush.
  • Part your hair to the side.
  • Shape your hair the way you want it to "poof" on both sides
  • Pin your sections down with as many bobby pins as necessary
  • Curl your hair and release the curling iron in a downward motion to create curled locks
  • Spray the style with hair spray
  • Add a flower on the side!

Vintage-esque inspired hair (for long hair)

This do would work best for hair that is longer than shoulder length. I totally want to try it and do a video response. Anyway, I subscribed to her channel. Enjoy!

"Quick Makeover video" Pictures

I made a quick video on how I make myself over. Hope you enjoy!

Here are pictures of the final look

Swing dancing!

Here is a cute channel where you can learn to swing dance. They are very good at explaining steps in detail. They show the step at the beginning of the video and then go into detail for the rest of the video!

If you can't afford to take lessons, I think this is the next best thing!

I think swing dance is soooo cute!

Finger waves for long hair

How To Make Finger Waves Styling Steps ~ 1930's Vintage Finger Waves

  • Shampoo your hair and towel dry.

  • Use a generous amount of hair gel or mousse and work the product evenly through your hair.

  • Begin your waves wherever you desire and start by laying your middle finger flat along your locks.

  • Use your comb and press it against the edge of your finger working in section about the size of an inch.

  • With the teeth down, pull the comb sideways against your finger creating a ridge.

  • Make certain you do not lift the comb during this process.

  • Lay your index finger beside your other finger and press the ridge firmly.

  • Move the comto a vertical position and comb your tresses out and curve in the other direction.

  • Move your middle finger so you can form the ridge as long as you wish it to be.

  • Skip the space of about two fingers and create another ridge.

  • Follow the direction of the wave directly above the one you are now making.

  • You can form your waves as far down as you would like.

  • Carefully run a comb through your waves and you will be left with a stunning pattern like Greta Garbo’s.

Things you can do to be a modern pin up wife

1) Wear your favorite shade of red lip stick, a flower in your hair and false lashes all day, as you run errands.

2) Wear cute shoes an apron and a cute outfit as you serve dinner to guests...try it ONCE LOL!

3) Wear your freshly washed hair, up like this:

As you work around the house all day, with the kids. Take your hair down right before hubby comes home. You'll have big sexy waves and it will smell so pretty too.

4) Bake an easy dessert and serve it after dinner.

5) Dress up in different outfits and ask your hubby or a good friend to take several pictures of you. Don't stop at 2 or 3 pictures. Try taking 50 pictures or more. You may find a few in that large bunch that you like.

Enjoy!

Audrey Hepburn inspired hairdo

This look can be recreated in a more modern version, by girls with shoulder length or longer, hair.

Doesn't necessarily need to be recreated with dark hair, but as you can see, it does look more like Audrey's hair when you do have dark hair. (My recommended products are listed as links below)

STEPS:

1) Put your hair in hot setters or curl your hair with a 1 1/2" Curling iron to add some waves. The waves don't have to be perfect. The waves will add texture. You should have texture in your hair for this look.

2) Spray your waves with hair spray.

3) Section your hair for a pony tail, leaving the front part for bangs later.

4) Put your hair in a high pony tail, but don't pull your hair all the way through. Leave the ends tucked in the hair band.

5) Use the curling iron to curl any loose ends and neaten the look.

6) Take your bangs or "bangs", brush them to the side and spray them with hair spray.

7) Seek out the fly aways or imperfections and make corrections. I suggest you use a 2nd mirror to get a good look at your hair.

8) Top it all off with a glittery hair clip or faux crystal/diamond clip and some large sunglasses :)
(Cigarette holder and cigarette optional)

Based on looks only, what kind of lifestyle do you all imagine I lead?
I had someone say something to me the other day, that made me curious. I won't say what yet, but I would like to read what you all think my life is like. Anything goes and I will not be offended ;)

Face shape hair cuts

There are many, many types of hairstyles out there, but not all will look good on you unless the hairstyle fits the shape of your face. Below are the different hairstyles that are considered most flattering for each shape of face.

An oval face.

The oval face is the perfect face because almost any hairstyle will go with it, whether it is long or short, straight or curly. If you have an oval face, you will do well with having layers near your chin or cheekbones to draw attention to them. However, try to avoid hairstyles that add volumes to the top of your head it will make your face look longer.

A long face.

If you have a long or oblong face, you should create the illusion of width to balance it out. You can add width to your face by doing your hair with long, side-swept bangs or chin-length bobs. You will also do well with curls and waves that frame the face.
If you have a long or oblong face, you should avoid letting your hair grow extremely long or having your hair cut extremely short. Such extreme hairstyles will take the width from your face and emphasize its length.

A round face.

If people with long faces need to add width to their faces, people with round faces need to take some of the width and bulk off by adding length. If your face is round you need to create the illusion of length, and to do this, you can have your hair cut just below your chin, or in graduated layers. Do not do your hair in short, one-length, blunt cuts, as it will only draw attention to the roundness of your face.

A square face.

Having a square face means having an angular jaw. The hairstyle trick with having a square face is drawing attention away from that jaw. This is done by putting texture to your hair. Short curls do exactly this, as well as long layers that start just below the jawline. If your face has a square shape, you should try not to have your hair cut in one-length bobs or wear bangs that are cut bluntly. It will only emphasize the squareness of your face.

A heart-shaped face.

Heart-shaped faces are pretty Valentines, but the pointed chin draws attention away from the eyes. If you have a heart-shaped face, you could bring focus to your eyes by wearing side-swept bangs, a fringe on your brow or long layers at the top. Or you could let your hair grow and have it done with layers that touch your cheekbones.

Mother Nature's Hair Care

The Alluring Avocado
Mash an avocado (one avocado for short hair, two for long) in a bowl until it forms a thick paste. Spread the paste on your hair from root to tip and leave on for 20 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. Avocados are high in fatty acids and nutrients. Feed your hair!

Amazing Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix half a cup of apple cider vinegar with one quart of water and use as a hair rinse after your regular shampoo. Rich in alpha-hydroxy acids, apple cider vinegar helps break down residue build-up leaving your hair soft and full of shine. Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar and it will be shining in no time.

Eggs Over Olive Oil
Beat together two eggs for short hair, three for long, and add in three tablespoons of olive oil. Coat your hair from root to tip and leave on for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. Eggs contain eleven essential nutrients and are packed with protein. Combine them with olive oil for conditioning and nourishment and you have one powerful duo.

Coconut Craze
Warm three tablespoons of coconut oil and gently comb into your hair from root to tip. Wrap your hair in a hot towel and let the oil sit for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse. Loaded with antioxidants, coconut oil works to smooth dry and damaged cuticles and lock in shine.

Natural home facials

1. Steaming
After bringing a pot of water to a boil, lower the heat and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Hold your face over the pot, but not too close, and place a towel over your head to aid in the steaming process. Stay there for about five minutes and enjoy the wonderful aromatherapy as the steam opens your pores.

2. Exfoliate
Uncooked oatmeal and a little warm water make an excellent exfoliant. Mix them together to form a paste and then gently scrub your face to remove dirt, oil, and dead skin cells.

3 . Fruit Facial Mask
A fruity facial mask can be made from a variety of fruits. I like this simple recipe for the papaya.

-1/2 cup yogurt
-1 chopped papaya
-1 juiced lemon
-1 teaspoon of honey

Put all ingredients in the blender and blend on low until a paste is formed. Apply to face and leave on for at least thirty minutes.

What I do

I make hair tutorials on YouTube. But I created this blog to connect with my fellow writers/bloggers. I've also created a myspace account, but I don't like the format for blogging. I'd rather blog here. As far as something to note about me: I rarely have will power when it comes to dieting. I'd rather eat what I want, but in moderation. I like girly stuff, but I don't like doing my own hair. I rarely do my own hair, so if you saw me in the street, you'd probably not recognize me. But if you ever saw me, I would love it if you came to say hi. Thanks for reading my blogs.
